Foresta Rossa

Piazza di San Pietro all’Olmo, Cornaredo

January 07, 2017 — Permanent

The instalation Foresta Rossa unfolds through a visual narrative that intertwines past and present, evoking a dialogue between ghost towns and the real world. The sculptural elements, arranged along the main axes radiating from the large elm at the center of the square, create a path that guides toward the Lombard basilica.
This linear and perspective arrangement not only offers an aesthetic dimension but also invites a deep reflection on memory and the identity of the place. Each sculpture represents a fragment of this narrative, reflecting the peculiarities of the territory, such as the rows of elms along the banks of the irrigation canals, which evoke the image of a living landscape in contrast to the desolation of abandoned cities.
The contrast between the organic forms of the sculptures and the linearity of the path enhances the sense of movement and transformation.
